Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in Western Africa gained its independence from France in 1960. It has a tropical climate along the coast and a semiarid climate in the far north. The economy is built on agriculture, especially the export of cocoa, coffee, and palm oil. In the last few decades, Côte d’Ivoire has suffered a great deal from multiple coups and civil wars in rapid succession. Although the violence ended in 2011, thousands of people lost their lives and hundreds of thousands were displaced. Many people in Côte d’Ivoire have suffered from the effects of the AIDS crisis.

The Children of Promise ministry in Côte d’Ivoire began in 2016.  As a result of the civil wars and political violence, many children have lost their parents, people have been displaced, and the economy has suffered. These conditions have left many people in Côte d’Ivoire living in poverty. Program Directors and Church of God Missionaries, Bobby and Jenny Mihsill, work with the local churches and volunteers to help sponsored children receive food, education, and health care. They also make sure the children are discipled and experience the love of Jesus in the community of the church.

Your sponsorship helps bring nutrition, education, health care, discipleship, and wholeness to a child in Côte d’Ivoire.
