The House of Hope is a day program for children of women who are enslaved in the sex trade in Daulatdia, Bangladesh. Daulatdia is home of the largest brothel in Bangladesh and is one of the largest brothels in the world. Mothers and their children live in one room rented dwellings, and children are sent out in the alleyways or hidden under the bed when their mothers are working. As “untouchables,” these women and children are ostracized from the rest of society and considered “unclean.” Options for a different future are limited in Daulatdia, and young girls are especially at risk of being forced into slavery themselves.
The House of Hope provides a safe place where school aged children can go during the day to receive healthy food, tutoring, counseling, and to be nurtured in the love of Jesus. Because of the vulnerability of this group of children, one-to-one sponsorship is not available. Your sponsorship funds provide program support of the House of Hope and will make services available to one child each month.
Your sponsorship of the House of Hope helps bring nutrition, education, health care, discipleship, and wholeness to a child in Bangladesh.
